TEVI TREE PLANTING CIRCULAR ECONOMY & ENVIRONMENTAL GROWTH INTRODUCTION To help raise the profile of National Tree Week organised by the UK Tree Council the Tevi Team organised a Tree Planting event at Enys Gardens, Penryn and invited 35 business representatives to participate in a hands on tree planting session. Participants were welcomed by the co-owner of Enys gardens and provided an update on Cornwall Council's Forest for Cornwall plan. A tree planting masterclass was delivered by Enys Gardens Head Gardener introducing the species of tree that would be planted and the reasons these were selected, as well as highlighting the challenges that gardens face in managing plant & tree diseases including Ash die-back, Phytophthora ramorum and Xylella. IMPACT SUMMARY For many of the participants this was the first time they had experienced tree planting and many fed back that they found it a satisfying and rewarding experience. The opportunity to directly engage with environmental growth projects such as tree planting is expected to have a positive knock on effect for the business community to take back and share with colleagues and staff. BUSINESS ASSISTANCE "Planting trees with other local business representatives was a powerful experience. We all need to do less talking about the environment and and take more action". Steve Skinner Managing Director, Skinners Brewery
