Clinical Study Pending – To be completed Q1-Q2 2017 RATIONALE: Phosphodiesterase Enzyme-5 Phosphodiesterases (PDEs) are the key enzymes in multiple biochemical signaling pathways of the body and belongs to a superfamily of enzyme divided into 11 families (PDE1-PDE11). These enzymes catalyze the degradation of the secondary messengers, cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) to their respective monophosphate forms. These PDEs differs with respective to selectivity for cyclic nucleotides, physiological roles and tissue distribution. PDE5, a cGMP-specific PDE is highly expressed in the tissues like lung, platelets, neuronal cells, vascular, and smooth muscles. PDE5 has a crucial role in the metabolism of cGMP. Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) enzyme inhibitory effect
