Assess the potential

Weatherford has the equipment and know-how to run a wide range of well tests. The

resulting data can help you assess a reservoir’s potential, as well as inform future drilling,

completion and production decisions. But our services extend far beyond execution. They

also encompass test design and data analysis, critical to yielding meaningful results.

In well testing, one size does not t all. Objectives and

operating conditions vary, requiring customization. We

work closely with you to design tests that deliver the

data you need to make informed reservoir management

decisions and ultimately, to maximize recovery. Sources

of input can include seismic surveys, surface logging,

wireline logging and simulations run with proprietary

software. A well-designed test delivers accurate,

meaningful data that meet your predetermined reservoir

evaluation objectives.

We leverage proprietary well-testing software, including

our PanSystem® and PanMesh™ applications, to analyze,

validate and interpret data. In addition to performing

these functions, we can train your personnel in well-test

data analysis and interpretation. As a diversied oileld

services company, we also offer access to experts ina wide range of complementary disciplines—such as

well construction, completion design and production

optimization. Our experts also can help you maximize

During exploration and appraisal well testing, we

acquire critical data—including ow rates, formation

uid properties and permeability, as well as surface and

downhole pressure and temperature—that can help

you assess the commercial potential of a reservoir,

as well as cost-effectively produce your wells. Among

the means that we use to acquire these data are

wireline or tubing-conveyed-perforating (TCP) systems;

drillstem test (DST) tools; downhole memory gauges

and pressure/volume/temperature (PVT) samplers;

surface well-testing packages; multiphase owmeters;

and sophisticated electronic data-acquisition systems.

We also have the capacity to transmit data in real time

to approved parties at off-site locations, facilitating

fast, well-informed decision-making. And, with a global

network of advanced geosciences laboratories, we

can provide formation uid analysis on downhole and

surface samples acquired during testing.

A powerful well-test analysis application, our

PanSystem® software made its commercial debut

more than 20 years ago and has been upgraded on anongoing basis to reect major industry developments,

such as unconventional gas. Equipped with a simulation

function, it can also be used to optimize the design of

well tests before execution.

production services

Optimize well performance, minimize environmental impact

Incorporating the same base technologies as exploration and appraisal well testing, we

provide a number of services to help you optimize the performance of your producing

assets, while minimizing environmental impact. These include production testing, well

cleanup and unloading, and frac owback management.

A byproduct of hydraulic fracturing, residual proppant can

damage production lines, process facilities and equipment as

it ows back to the surface. We use an array of technologies

to manage returning proppant and solids effectively, including

hydraulic chokes, four-phase separators, pressurized knockout

vessels and high-pressure lters.

Frac owback management

Our services include the removal and proper disposal of owback uids

and solids to optimize production, while minimizing environmental

impact. We also offer complementary sand-and-water control

services—which incorporate gravel packs and various standalone

conventional sand screens with inow control devices (ICDs), industry-

leading expandable sand screen (ESS®

) systems, and our proprietary

SandAid®

 sand-conglomeration solution—as well as surface-based

sand management and produced-water treatment services.

With a wide selection of perforating guns and

multiple conveyance options—including coiled

tubing, slickline, wireline and tubing (TCP)—we are

well equipped to meet your perforating objectives, as

well as to overcome specic challenges imposed by

factors, such as large casing diameters and highly

deviated wellbores.

Production testing can help you optimize eld performance, diagnose

production problems and comply with applicable environmental

regulations. We offer standard in-line testing packages—which

minimize emissions and avert interruption to production while

testing—as well as memory production logging and owmetering.

Our owmetering technologies include the nonnuclear Alpha

VS/R wet-gas owmeter, the Alpha VS/R-D multiphase owmeter,

and the compact REMMS partial-separation owmeter. All are

suitable for space-constrained environments, and all incorporate

advanced Red Eye®

 technology, which measures water cut.

We provide slickline services to facilitate testing operations

such as pressure/temperature surveys, bottomhole sampling,

and in completion and production operations such as setting,

pulling and shifting ow controls. Slickline also is used inperforating operations to convey ring heads and release

gun assemblies after ring. And we offer heavy-duty wireline

shing (HDWF) services to remove obstructions—including

stuck ow-control devices, slickline and braided cable—from

your well. HDWF presents a more efcient cost-effective

alternative to coiled-tubing shing and conventional workovers.

Produce while planning

Early production facilities (EPFs) enable you to bring

production on line quickly and cost-effectively, while

continuing to gather pertinent reservoir data and plan

full-eld development strategies accordingly. Weatherford

possesses the technologies, engineering expertise, in-

house experience, project management skills and global

reach to design, construct and operate these complex,

often remote, installations; and we have a track record of successful projects to back up that claim.

Our multiple contract options include build-own-operate

(BOO); build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT); engineering,

procurement and construction (EPC); and lease, operate,

maintain (LOM). We also provide extended well testing

(EWT) services, which similarly enable you to produce while

you assess the reservoir and plan full-eld development.

PAKISTAN | Weatherford completes 15-MMscf/d EPF installation with minimal

impact on environmentally sensitive surroundings

We selected an EPF design that would meet the client’s environmental and operational

criteria. On procuring the requisite material from international vendors, we built modular

units off-site, coordinated the transportation of the units to the well, and assembled the

EPF. The facility was commissioned approximately 14 months after the contract was

awarded. We recorded no lost-time incidents during the 449,493 man-hours logged in the

installation and commissioning phases. The EPF enabled the client to produce and sell

natural gas, liqueed petroleum gas (LPG) and gas condensate with minimal impact to

the environmentally sensitive surroundings, while continuing to evaluate the reservoir.

NORTHERN IRAQ (TAQ TAQ FIELD) | Weatherford delivers and

installs 30,000-bbl/d EPF in remote region—in just eight weeks

The EPF provided the client with a cost-effective means to initiate

production, while evaluating the reservoir to inform a full-eld

development strategy. Our approach, which entailed building modularcomponents from equipment in its inventory outside of Iraq, helped

expedite the installation process and bring production on line sooner.

Furthermore, the design that we selected facilitated post-installation

expansion of its production capacity.
