Tech Data Europe is a leading Distributor for Microsoft in Europe and we share a successful 26 year global partnership. Our theme for the year is a "One Microsoft + One Tech Data "Stronger. Together Partnership". This resonates across all segments of our business partnership.

Our Global Partnership is strong and highly engaged in Europe. Tech Data's philosophy for growing the Microsoft business is: Optimization, Innovation and Diversification. They have applied these guiding principles across the breadth of our business to help drive growth in FY15. Highlights include:

Global Alignment is growing stronger than ever for TD Microsoft team. US and European teams are working closely with each other to build TDCloud strategy, best practice sharing and aligning resources. Cloud Acceleration: Tech Data has captured the channel by activating and enabling their resellers thru a wide variety of reseller campaigns, boot camp trainings, and outbound selling motions. Accelerating their value proposition as a preferred Cloud Distributor by leveraging their 2000 person WW sales organization & their differentiated IT tools including: License online, ESD, StreamOne Platform, Activate Here, Intouch. Expansion of their Global Cloud Platform (StreamOne) and igniting CSP Go to Market strategy. They have signed contracts in all regions (US, CA, LATAM and Europe). Transacting with resellers preparing for scale growth in FY16.Promoting and driving Win Server End of Support: They have executed on best in class WinServer EOS campaigns in UK. This best practice has been shared and various stages of imitation in all 16 countries. Their growth today is +38% YOY.Office Attach and Opening New routes to market– Leveraged their innovation in ESD to implement unique O365 attach solutions. Example is TELENOR in Denmark. Partnered with Microsoft and TELENOR to offer an integrated service offering that included O365 for all new phone customers and existing customers as a retention incentive. +2500 new customers in first Solution Selling: Integrating with Tech Data Value added Distributor segment (Azlan) to develop unique Solutions for their resellers including, O365 Migration services, O365 automated renewals service, Azure in Open. Tech Data achieved 25 MPN competencies in 10 Countries.

Tech Data is a crucial partner for us in Europe and that partnership is still getting stronger and stronger every year. The theme of “Stronger Together” is not just 2 words but it gets applied in our daily collaboration. It really illustrate the spirit of our partnership. To me, this is how Tech Data differentiates itself:1. Innovation: Tech Data is THE leader in Electronic Software Distribution and continues to innovative and enter new markets such as Telco’s and via Print to Receipt into traditional and non-traditional Retail. For me it is clear that this platform ( called Activate Here ) will help us to sell O365 to Consumers and Small Businesses, a huge opportunity for both companies. Another key example is their Cloud Platform, called StreamOne, which serves as a back-office billing and cloud aggregation. This market place will allow a lot of smaller ( and bigger ) partners to accelerate their transition to the Cloud and increase the loyalty to Tech Data. Their Cloud Accelerate Program is another illustration of this innovative spirit.2. Operational Excellence and Optimization: Tech Data is super focused on making their operations a real added value to all their customers. I am impressed with the excellence of execution and the high services levels they offer. This is why I believe Tech Data is a key partner for us in making Surface a big success in Europe. They have the Hardware expertise coupled with this operational excellence which is absolute a winning combination. 3. People and Passion: Tech Data has great teams across Europe, from the HQ to the Country GMs, the Business Unit Managers etc. Every time I meet Tech Data people I am impressed by the quality and the passion. As in every great partnership, there are straightforward passionate discussions and feedback cycles but the great thing is that this is always in a positive spirit and with one objective: how to improve the partnership and become Stronger Together. PioneerTech Data Europe is actively selling ESD since FY12 being one of the first companies worldwide technical capable of selling software in secure way to many resellers and (r)-etailers. From the start developments have been done from their stable and secure “Activate Here” delivery platform. Tech Data and Microsoft partnered from the start taken constructive feedback on a regular base to improve the processes and to optimize the customer journey. InnovativeTo create awareness among SMB resellers, Tech Data has had innovative idea to switch off all FPP products and only offer ESD version on their e-Commerce platform “Intouch”. This had no negative result on sales out at all, and made Microsoft, Tech Data and the reseller aware that transition from FPP to ESD can be done easily. The average monthly FPP/ESD mix for Retail and SMB is currently between 30 and 40% and growing. Over 15k Tech Data resellers have bought Microsoft ESD the first 3 quarters of FY15. The offering of ESD Office and X-box point cards via Print to Receipt in non-traditional IT channels like grocery stores in Germany proves that innovation also can be done outside the IT area.  Multiple Solutions for SMB and retailThe real differentiator of Tech Data market approach is the effort they put in different specific customer segments with various cutting edge solutions. For example in Retail: They offer an ESD end-user kiosk solution for small independent retailers, on which stores can order their products. For large retailers they created the Print to Receipt solution. Print to Receipt is a cost effective solution which can be seen as alternative to POSA where the activation key is printed on the sales-slip. For online SMB and retail customers Tech Data is able to deliver digital products in a split second. Tech Data combined all market approaches in one single solution: That makes the proposition unique, robust, and scalable which results in cost effective delivery for all segments.  With these solutions Tech Data Europe is ESD market leader in 11 of the 16 markets they are present in. FutureThe fact that Microsoft is opening the Xbox and Microsoft points market is representing for Tech Data in Europe additional growth opportunities. Tech Data and Microsoft believes in Digital distribution of Software and will continue invest into this future solution.
