9.5 Thermal Shock Cycling -55℃ to 85℃ (Test No5)

9.5.1 Test Description

The cable assembly will be subjected to thermal shock cycling per condition 1 of EIA-364-32C standard. The temperatures will cycle from -55℃ to 85℃. The temperatures will be cycled 25 times. Samples being tested are outlined in the schematic (Figure 4). The cable sections are separated from main cable assembly. The cable sections are then placed into the oven in a mated condition (Figure 5).

9.7 Random Vibration (Test No 7)

9.7.1 Test Description

Connector Group B will be subjected to random vibration per AS39029/120 (draft). The vibration power denisty is defined per the graph in Figure 6. The connector group B will have support screws in the radial direction. The support screws can be seen in Figure 9. 100% of contacts are wired in series and monitored for discontinuity during the vibration test. Discontinuity is not to exceed 1 microsecond. Monitoring will be done of the entire cable assembly. The connector group B will be tested in the radial direction then it will be tested in the axial direction. During testing in the axial direction the cable will be contrained having a free length of 6” see Figure 9. Each test will last 8hrs.
