TEST FOR RESISTANCE OF E-JOINT, REACTION OF
EPOXY ON PLATE DURING WELDING
AND
REACTION OF EPOXY UNDER WATER PRESSURE
1) Plates were welded to A-end of pipe as below pictures

3) The pipe was sent to “Inside Blasting” unit.
Surface rougness was controlled
4) After the inside blasting, the pipe was sent to “Internal Lining” unit.
Internal lining was applied according to NF EN 10339 with Epoxy (eurokete 468 thixo)
Surface rougness was controlled (Rz: 50-90μ)
After plating epoxy, the quality control tests were made;
Dry film thickness was measurement (min.500 μ)

The quality control tests were made;
The holiday test was made (with wet sponge 67,5V) for 1 meter at pipe ends.

5) Expanded pipe-end was cut.
The pipe was marked 600mm distance from expanded pipe-end for cutting.

6) The expanded pipe-ends were welded to pipe A-ends which is with plate
E-Joint welding parameters are as follows;

Basic welding electrodes are used which number is AS B-255 which diameter is
Ø:3,25mm. The electrodes label information is as below picture.

The temperature was being measured from internal coating during made e-joint welding
outside of pipe. The temperature was in the range 22-24oC.
All of visual kontrol was being made during e-joint welding outside of pipe.

7) The pipe was taken to Hydrotesting
42 bar water pressure was applied to epoxy coating (eurokote 468 thixo).
