Teslers Time Out Wellington events Sat 17 Sept – Treasuring Diversity Performance Multicultural Council of Wellington presents Treasuring Diversity, a concert celebrating the precious arts of people. This show features local and international talent, including 15 of our BEdTESOL students! They have been preparing for months for this day, so support your fellow TESLers and enjoy a day of amazing performances. Free admission! Sat 17 Sept, 10am-3pm, Town Hall. Sun 18 Sept – Grow your own workshops This is a hands-on workshop as a part of the Botanic Garden Spring Festival. Find out what grows best in Wellington and how to plant and propagate your own food, even if you don’t have a garden. The weather is warming up so this is a great chance to get outdoors and maybe even save money! Sun 18 Sept, 11am-12pm or 1-2pm. Botanic Garden Treehouse. Free! Sun 18 Sept – Newtown Free Market Leave your wallet at home for this market! Bring unwanted clothes, electronics, crafts, baking, seedlings etc. Spring clean your flat and maybe find some treasures to take home! “Because there is enough for everyone. If you’re interested in meeting people from all over the world and being part of the biggest event New Zealand has ever hosted, you should find out more about being a Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteer. Tournament organisers are looking for enthusiastic people to volunteer in a variety of roles, all aimed at making RWC 2011 an outstanding success. Each night features 5-6 short plays or scenes directed by third year directing students. A variety of plays by stellar Vic students! Wed 21 Sept – Sat 24 Sept 7pm. 77 Fairlie Terrace. Free! Please reserve seats by emailing [email protected] with the number of seats and the nights you wish to attend. Lights over Victoria Have you seen the beams of light over Wellington recently? Victoria University has teamed up with a group of companies to present ‘Lights over Victoria’, a project designed to complement the exciting atmosphere gripping Wellington this month.
