History

• When Ying Zheng was 13 years old, he was crowned King of Qin in China. Qin, pronounced Chin, was one of the largest military stated in ancient China. Because of Ying Zheng’s quest for immortality, he ordered construction on his burial site as soon as he became king. Soon after he proclaimed himself first emperor and unified China in 221 B.C, work began on the vast tomb. From all parts of China, more than 700000 workers built terra cotta warriors, chariots, weapons and other artifacts.
