The prize draw is open to entrants at least 18 years of age who have a business idea or consider themselves a budding entrepreneur and are students of Bournemouth University. 4. In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. 5. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted. 6. The prize draw is free to enter. How to enter Application is in two parts: 7. Part 1 – applicant submission: Applicants should submit a brief overview of their business idea. This should be no more than one side of an A4 word document using Type size 12, Arial Font and 1.5 line spacing (approx. 300-400 words). Terms and Conditions:

*Terms and conditions apply: 1. By entering the prize draw you are agreeing to these prize draw rules. 2. The Pitch at the Pitch challenge is brought to you by Santander in conjunction with BU and hosted by AFC Bournemouth.

7. Part 1 – applicant submission: Applicants should submit a brief overview of their business idea. This should be no more than one side of an A4 word document using Type size 12, Arial Font and 1.5 line spacing (approx. 300-400 words).

Please include your name, course and Student ID and email it to [email protected] by Wednesday 21st February 2018 (midnight).

Late entries will not be accepted.

Part 2 - applicant shortlisting:

Ten shortlisted students (finalists) will be notified by Tuesday 6th March 2018 and invited to present their business idea in full at the Pitch at the Pitch event at AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday 21st March 2018. Your presentation should be 15minutes long and will be followed by 10 minutes of questions from the panel.

8. The decision of the University regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

09. The University will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate; or for prize draw entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit.

The prize All contestants will be subject to the same judging criteria and 5 prizes of £1,000 each will be awarded to the strongest business ideas on the day.

10. The University’s use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.

Winner announcement

11. Winners will be announced on the day of the Pitch 12. If applicants are unable to return at the end of the day for the announcements. The University will attempt to contact winners by email or phone.

Data protection and publicity 13. You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the prize draw being used by the University for the purposes of administering the prize draw.

14. Winners agree to participate in any reasonable publicity related to the prize draw which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media.

15. All personal information shall be used in accordance with the University’s Data Protection Policy, accessible here: https://www1.bournemouth.ac.uk/about/governance/access-information/data-protection-act-1998-dpa-and-privacy-policies.

Limitation of Liability 16. The University does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the prize draw or being selected for a prize, save that the University does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence.

General 17. The University does not accept responsibility for the return of any materials submitted in connection with the prize draw.

18. The University reserves the right to cancel the prize draw or amend these rules at any time, without prior notice.

19. The prize draw and these rules will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
