Merry Xmas and Happy New Year! It is always my

pleasure to take this opportunity on behalf of DKI man-

agement to thank our customers, our partners, our staff and our extended DKI family members for your

valuable support and contribution in 2015.

2015 has been an extremely busy year at DKI. Despite

the challenges of managing multiple “tight scheduled”

installations and commissioning to meet customer

needs, the entire team of DKI members have achieved our corporate goal of ZERO LTI (Lost Time Injury)

throughout 2015. HSE maintains the highest priority in conducting business at DKI.

With the proven track record and improved functionality

of Omega 5000 – the new generation of terminal auto-mation system developed in recent years, we have

seen an increase of Omega 5000 installations in Malay-

sia, Indonesia, China, New Zealand and Australia. In order to strengthen and grow our manufacturing capa-

bility, we have invested in expanding our physical plant and have implemented initiatives focused on QA/QC

process improvement, inventory control management and production scheduling enhancement. We have de-

livered on time a variety of chemical, bitumen, blend-

ing, bunkering, rail, loading and unloading skids in 2015.

Service with DKI specialised expertise is the core of

DKI’s growth strategy. We have increased service pres-ence in Philippines, Indonesia and Western Australia to

respond to our customer needs. Each customer with individual terminals has a unique operational profile.

Our customer account management team has started

to implement DKI customer engagement model to plan, design and implement an

effective program to-

gether with our cus-tomers that will opti-

mize the terminal as-

sets, field equipment and human resources

to maintain the best industry practice with

improved efficiency and safety.

DKI has differentiated our solutions and offerings

through innovation over the years and we have always

continuously invested into our future technology. In 2015, remarkable progress has been made in our R&D

programs. One of such programs is Terminal Infor-mation Data Exchange (TIDE). TIDE will provide a solu-

tion to satisfy the need for information across multiple terminals across different regions running in the “cloud”

and platform independent. With diversified require-

ments to manage remote and smaller depot terminals, OmegaLite has become an emerging solution embraced

by distribution community.

With many uncertainties facing us all in the oil and gas

industry, DKI team are preparing our next stage of

transformation. 2016 will be an even more challenging

year for us. With our focused strategy on further ex-

pansion of our service and product offerings, DKI is

uniquely positioned in midstream and downstream to

provide flexible and cost-effective solutions to our cus-

tomers. We look forward to working with you closely in

2016 and meeting the industry challenges with mutual

success!

CEO’s Season’s Greetings

Extra value, value add, added value or other similar terms are used to describe there is more to a commercial ar-rangement than may be directly apparent. In any B2B re-lationship, there are reasons – not just monetary, that two entities conduct business. Given the nature of the hydro-carbon fuels industry, B2B relationships often seek to “get more” bi-directionally than purely the monetary gain.

Recently DKI were engaged with a terminal where a par-ticular bay had been seeing a cascade of alarms, periodi-cally interrupting loading. Of course, loading interruptions are never welcome by site management nor truck drivers. With the help of the Customer Care Centre (CCC) in re-quest of diagnostic assistance, the TAS alarm log was downloaded as a basis of fault finding. Analysis of the log showed trending of certain alarms by arm by bay. With this vital information, DKI’s experienced site engineer and a methodical approach ultimately isolates the problem. In this case, it turned out to be lengths of old cabling, left over from previous site changes, that acted as an anten-na, collecting electrical noise from other electrical equip-ment around the site. With DKI’s intervention all alarms causing operational impact were reduced by over 60%. DKI’s CCC team continue to proactively monitor such alarms to ensure site operational personnel become aware of alarms impact.

In the above case, the value beyond the contract were the two knowledge services utilised in the solving of the prob-lem. Firstly, the ability of the CCC team to take a set of data, conduct analysis and indicate potential issues and secondly provide an experienced field service engineer to attend site and work with site personnel to isolate and rec-tify the issue.

There are many such examples demonstrating CCC’s value is not just supporting TAS as a mission critical IT system, but conducting regular backend preventative di-agnostics to help customers with valuable maintenance recommendation or cost-effective resolution with DKI’s integrated field services.

In utilising DKI, customers gain access to valuable data, integrated expertise and field services to achieve value beyond the contract.

Mutual Success Through Teamwork With Our Customers

Improving quality and processes are an important aspect of DKI operations. Over the last year DKI has made some significant investment in our China manu-facturing facility to improve quality, process efficiency and delivery time.

Strengthening the quality team at the factory has been a key ingredient in taking quality to the next lev-el. With five new team members, additional focus is given to all areas of production. For example, Goods In now undertakes 100% inspection, rather than the more typical 10%. Additionally, two of the quality team undertook an international electrical hazardous area inspection course in Australia to qualify to conduct electrical inspections. Our team members were the first to became certified H Class Electrical Inspectors in China. As a result of the improved QA processes we are finding that punch list items found at final inspections are almost nil.

Further efficiencies have also been gained through the introduction of the Lean philosophy. Lean is well known for driving efficiencies through the elimination of waste across the production landscape. Although in the early days, a number of improvements are already being seen – such as reducing the build time of a bottom loading module by 20%. Another is the posting of assembly, detail drawings and schedules of modules under manufacture on a single bulletin board for all involved to have a single information point.

As well as quality improvements the DKJ team are also someway through their process of achieving OHSAS 18001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Sys-tem and ISO 14001 Environmental Management accredita-tion which is expected to complete during 3rd quarter 2016.

And by no means least, the assembly area has been in-creased by 800m2. Naturally the extra area allows greater capacity and flexibility in production.

My name is Charles Wang, 29 years old. My hometown is Yueyang in Hunan province of China. I graduated from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and my major is automa-tion. I had been a soldier in the PLA for 2 years and also worked for a trading company in their procurement depart-ment. I work in Yueyang plant as an Logistics Assistant.

Hi, I am Kevin Duan. I come from the Hunan Province. I joined DKI family in 2015 as an electrical quality engineer. My previous role was in nuclear power construction, focusing on electrical quality control . I am very grad to join the DKI team, the team is very energet-ic. I hope with DKI to grow together.

Whilst terminal automation software has developed to pro-vide a wide array of functions and operational capabilities, the data a TAS system captures, is not presented as useful information. Sure reports and data export templates exist but it really does not satisfy the need for performance analysis, trend prediction or information analysis across one or more sites.

DKI Terminal Information Data Exchange —TIDE will provide a solution to satisfy the need for information across multiple terminals. Running in the “cloud” and platform independent, authorised users can use their preferred browser on PC, Mac, phablet or tablet to view the information.

TIDE consolidates data across multiple TAS installations. User defined Groups of TAS sites can then be created to amalgamate the data into business intelligence information. In real time, information is presented such as throughputs, stock positions, performance: plan v’s actual or alarm events enabling management of operations at optimum perfor-mance. Information is presented via a range of graphical dashboards in summary & detailed views. For users who wish to analyse data further, a variety of export formats are available.

Administrators of a TIDE Organisation will be able to set up

and define Groups of Sites and Users to suit their company needs, which in turn defines who has access to what data and which screen. Secure user access starts with https con-nections with a variety of configurable means including pass-word length, complexity and expiry.

A key operational benefit to companies with multiple Sites, is the capability to manage data centrally. TIDE will allow TAS master data for Omega 5000 users to be centrally managed. Traditionally, master data has to be entered at each TAS site, so if a particular driver draws at multiple Sites and for multiple companies, the same data for truck and driver have to be entered multiple times. In addition, small but subtle differ-ences can result depending upon who actually enters the data. e.g. William Smith at one site may be Bill Smith at an-other. With TIDE, master data is entered just once, then auto-matically distributed to the chosen TAS systems. However, data sent to Site, requires local Site authorisation before use in operations.

Another operational advantage of TIDE, is that it provides a replicated version of each Site database. In order to minimize data traffic, initially each Site database is replicated to TIDE. After the initial replication, data exchange is initiated by change. As a result, TIDE always has a current backup copy

of a TAS Site database. It occurs automatically, no need to rely on staff to insert media or facilitate network backups.

TIDE is an exciting new development from DKI, specifically addressing the need for information, opposed to data, from TAS systems. Our TAS users have expressed the need to expose and use the data held within their TAS systems to better formulate and understand operations – its now availa-ble.

2015 has been a busy year for DKI in terms of industry participation. There have been a variety of forums we have engaged in allowing us to receive val-uable industry insights and provide feedback.

As Vice-Chair of PIDX downstream, DKI has actively participated in global

working groups to define industry standards.

In April, David Moss and Sheau Chyi represented DKI at an international ma-

jor oil company’s regional engineering conference which focused on improve-

ment of HSE and operational excellence.

In October, CEO Lily Chen attended Money and Oil function in London where

she had an opportunity of meeting global leaders in oil industry and gained

substantial insights of industry changes.
