As Design Technologists we will: Plan and prepare our own Edwardian Picnic to share with other children in our school. As Geographers we will: Learn about the geography of Britain, it’s main towns and cities and it’s physical and human geography. The South pole – Shackleton Music Geography Pupils will listen to, and appreciate the music of Edward Elgar, a British composer from Worcestershire who was alive during the period E Nesbitt was alive. Children will listen to The Ocean by Elgar and use it for inspiration for their own compositions where they will design their own graphic score to evoke a storm and a sense of disaster and foreboding. Y4 Clarinets

Pupils will be taught to name and locate countries and cities of the UK and develop their understanding of human Geography, by studying different types of settlements and land use.

D.T. British Values/ PSHE Pupils will be taught to design, make and evaluate an Edwardian picnic which will include ‘healthy’ foods. Pupils will design the food and the picnic baskets which the food will be served in.

Science P.E. Pupils will cover the following subjects in science this term. Y3 - Plants Y3/4 - Animals including humans Y4 - Living things and their habitats. Whilst learning about these different topics children will be given the opportunities to develop their understanding of scientific investigation skills whilst planning,

Pupil will develop their understanding of a need for a healthy lifestyle and how exercise is a part of this. Pupils will also develop Y4 –Dance – Pupils will perform a range of movement patterns with fluidity and discipline. Y3 – Swimming – Pupils will develop a range of strokes to help them swim 25m confidently.

Y3/4 – During games lessons pupils will develop flexibility, strength, technique, control and balance through a variety of Athletic skills. Pupils will also improve their running, jumping, throwing and catching techniques and evaluate their performances.

I.C.T. R.E. Pupils will use image manipulation through of photos of fairies inspired by Frances Griffiths and Elsie Wright Pupils will use a variety of coding software to design, write and debug a program of Shackleton’s ship crossing the ocean.

Pupils will discuss and develop an understanding of the following subjects: Why do people pray? What does it mean to be a Christian in Britain today? What does it mean to be a Hindu in Britain today? What can we learn from religions about deciding what is right and wrong?
