(Values, Individuality, Excellence, Worth, Sustainability Principals Pen Welcome back! It has been lovely to see our students smiling faces as I have walked around the school today. This term we are continuing with our COVID safe practices so I thought I would review them in this weeks newsletter. SOCIAL DISTANCING The 1.5m physical distance expectation is required of all adults in and around our school site. If you need to be on the school site it is important you adhere to this requirement. Parents and carers must not gather together to wait for children [e.g. sitting on seats together or standing at the car park gates whilst waiting for students]. For the safety of yourself, your family and the community this must be followed. LIMITING VISITORS ONSITE In the mornings: to reduce the number of additional visitors to the school, parents should use Stop Drop Go rather than walking their children into school. Prep students will be able to go to their classrooms from 8:30am. In the afternoons: Prep, Y1 students and their siblings will be waiting at Stop Drop Go by 2.40pm each day. All other students will be dismissed at 3pm. Accessing the front office: Most enquiries can be managed by calling the school. If it is necessary to attend the school site enquiries will be managed through the office window. Phone calls or emails are the preferred methods of communication at this time. Communications with teachers: Email is the preferred method of communication. Teachers will also be available during the week to return phone calls. Face to face meetings will only be arranged for exceptional circumstances. OTHER SCHOOL OPERATIONS Homework, home reading programs and library borrowing: will continue with the modifications outlined in term 2. Tuckshop: The preferred method of ordering is using our Qkr! Online ordering system. Students who bring in their handwritten tuckshop order for the day will be directed to place the orders into a basket for safe handling by staff. Assemblies have resumed for students and staff. Due to restrictions around adults on site parents are unable to attend at this time. Playgroup continues to be postponed until further notice. OSHC Service: Parents are still expected to sign students in and out of this service. Please speak with the OSHC Co-ordinator about the specific operational needs of this service. HYGIENE We will continue to remind students of the need for good personal hygiene, both at home and in our school setting. Our expectations based on health advice: Washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds before entering the classroom at the start of the school day, when visiting the library, and at regular intervals throughout the day; Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow; Disposing of tissues in the bin immediately. Students should have a water bottle for their own personal use during the school day. Unwell students (and staff) must not attend school. Students that become unwell during the day will be sent home.
