Strategic Directions Our second Strategic Direction for 2018-2020 is around High Quality Teaching and Learning. The purpose of this direction is that - The Werris Creek Public School leadership team will provide instructional leadership, promoting and modelling effective practice. Explicit systems for lesson observations and the modelling of effective practice and feedback will drive and sustain ongoing school wide improvement in teaching and learning and therefore improvements in student outcomes. Teaching practices will effectively use Learning Goals and Success Criteria as well as evidence based and data driven teaching practices to deliver improved student outcomes. Teachers will be upskilled in innovative and future focused teaching practices to improve student engagement and retention at WCPS. The aim of this direction is to improve student outcomes and achieve the "Premiers Priorities" of increasing the number of students in the top two bands of NAPLAN. We also aim to improve the results of ATSI students by 10% over the next three years. Moving Up Day We will have a Moving Up Day this Wednesday, 6th December. This involves the students going to their class and teacher for 2018. This allows students and teachers to get a feel for each other and takes some of the surprise out of arriving at school next year. It will give students an opportunity to experience what next year will be like and take some of the anxiety out of the move in 2018. I hope all students have a great day. We will have a second Moving Up day next Wednesday, 13th December.
