Term 4 —Newsletter No. 12 A Super Book Day at CTK We had a wonderful day celebrating “World Book Day” at CTK, everyone dressed up for the day. It was a chance to celebrate books and share our favourite stories too. E-mail: [email protected] Website:www.christthekingprimary.co.uk Telephone:01454 866680 Our Annual Big Pedal at CTK Monday 25th March is the start of the “Big Pedal ” The competition will run from Monday 25th to Friday 5th April. On each day of the challenge, schools will compete to see who can record the greatest number of Pupils, Staff, Parents and Siblings cycling or scooting to school. We will daily log how many people come to school on their bike or scooter over the 10 days. For more information, please go on the website: http://bigpedal.org.uk/ We will try to keep every one up to date with a text and let you know our position in the national competition. It will be an exciting event as in the pass we have been 3rd in the UK for Small Schools. We hope the children will enjoy the challenge of scooting or cycling to school every day. It could be part of your Lenten activities. We hope there will be so many bikes and scooters that children will need to park their wheels in the bike shed or on the KS2 playground. We hope families will participate as well and be involved too. On Monday 25th March, Dr Bike, a bike mechanic from South Gloucestershire will be in school to check bikes and give advice too. We are very lucky Dr Bike is able to come to CTK on the first day of our “Big Pedal”. Happy Cycling!

Our PTFA CTK PTFA have donated £4000 pounds to the school. This is an amazing amount which has enabled the school to purchase a new interactive whiteboard for Neptune Class and will support other projects at school. Thank you so much to everyone who supports the PTFA and all the fund raising events for the school as it makes such a difference for all our children.

Thornbury Eisteddfod Our Year 1 and Year 3 children took part in the “Small Choir” event. Each year group performed two songs and the panel make comments on their singing. Each class received wonderful comments from the Judges and we are very proud of all our children who told part in the festival as they worked very hard. We would like to thank Sue Harbottle and Helen Kirby who supported our children and all our staff who were involved in the event.
