CANTEEN NEWS Above are the rosters for Terms 3 and 4. Thank you to all volunteers. The canteen could not run without your support. Please keep the roster for future reference. Remember that if you are unable to do your roster you must arrange to swap with another parent. Thank you. As you can see from the roster we only had six volunteers (out of the 60 Bexhill School families) offering to work. If you can spare 4hrs (or less) a term, to lend a hand please call Lisa on 66284558 so you can be added to the roster. Volunteering for canteen is a great way to be involved and it benefits all our children. Thank you for your support.

RESILIENCE
OPEN DAY, BOOK FAIR AND PARADE Wednesday 13th August 2014 ‐ The theme this year is…….
“Connect to Reading” This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase books for your family and at the same me support your school library. The school benefits by being credited 30% of the total sales from Ashton Scholas c to purchase books
for our library.
You are also invited to donate a book to the library….a bookplate acknowledging the donor will be placed in the front of the donated book. The books our children would like to see in the library will be clearly displayed.
Students will have the opportunity to view the books in the library before the Book Fair, Monday 11th August and Tuesday 12th August, and they will take home a ‘wish list’ with two or three possible tles and their prices. This allows me at home to discuss choices and decide on purchases (Of course, purchases are not compulso‐ry). The wish list must be returned to school, with payment, on the day of the Book Fair if you are unable to a end but would like your child to make a purchase. Payments can be made by cash, cheque or e pos.
Join the fun and help encourage your child’s love of reading. . Last year the school made $1861.00 in sales. Let’s try and make our goal this year $1900.00.
Our Book Fair “Connect to Reading” will be open for viewing and sales on Wednesday 13th August
between 8.30am – 9.30am; 11.30am – 12.30pm and 3pm – 4pm and Thursday 14th August from 8.30am – 9.30am and 11.30am – 12.30pm so you can visit as a family. Every sale at the Book Fair will benefit Bexhill students so join us in making our Book Fair a huge success!

HEADLICE HAVE BEEN DETECTED….AGAIN!
Please check your children thoroughly and
treat accordingly.
It is very important that all families co‐operate
to keep the headlice from breeding.
Removal of the eggs from the hair sha is me
consuming but the only way to get rid of
them, otherwise it can be very distressing for
all involved……. and expensive.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our school is participating in the Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart program and we would love your support. Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart is an exciting and non-competitive program which encour-ages children to become more active through skipping, learning new skills and raising vital funds for heart research and community health programs.
Skipping is an excellent way for children to keep fit and healthy. Over the next few weeks, your child or chil-dren will be learning a range of fun skipping skills and new tricks. We will emphasise the importance of reg-ular physical activity and the importance of healthy eating for a healthy lifestyle.
Jump Rope for Heart is also a great way to encourage children to be involved in our community and sup-port Australia’s leading heart health charity, the Heart Foundation. The Jump Rope for Heart team provide our school with fantastic resources and support so that we can implement the program. In return, we ask that students help by seeking sponsorship for their involvement.
Sponsorship is easy – simply go online to www.heartfoundation.org.au/jumprope , click on the green ‘Kids Join Now’ button, and register your child today!
A secure fundraising page will be created as soon as you register; all you need to do then is click the ‘Email Sponsors’ link to send your family and friends an email asking them for their support… It’s that easy!
This is an easy, safe way for your child to monitor their progress, receive bonus prizes* and even receive sponsorship from family and friends who are further afield.
At the end of the program we will be holding a Jump Off, an event to celebrate and culminate the Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart program. This will be held on Friday 19th September . The Jump Off day is a great opportunity for you to

Please help us in the fight against heart disease.
