Classroom Report
ANZAC Day Commemoration
On Friday afternoon, the Student Leadership Group led a service to com-
memorate ANZAC Day. Throughout the week, each classroom construct-
ed a poppy wreath. These wreaths were laid during the school service on
Friday afternoon, and the Underbool Community Service held at dawn on
Sunday at Outen Park.
On Wednesday the 21st of April, Simon Morrison volunteered his time to
visit the staff and students and share his knowledge and experience as a
past member of the Australian Defence Force. Simon spoke of the signifi-
cance of the Australian flag and the history of the ANZAC’s. The students
were thrilled to observe personal photos and memorabilia of Simon’s time
as a service member. On behalf of the staff and students, we thank Simon
for his invaluable time and the opportunity to pass on the significance of
ANZAC Day to our students.
A message from the Principal - Mr Jim Rinaldi
To the Underbool Primary School Community,
Thank you for your kind words of welcome. I take this opportunity to pub-
licly thank the staff for their support to ensure my transition into the role is a
smooth one. The students too, have been generous in their words of wel-
come. I am very much looking forward to working with you all to make
sure Underbool Primary School is a place where students can achieve
their best.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander peoples
the first peoples and traditional
custodians of the lands where we
live, learn and work. We pay our
respects to the Elders, both past,
present and future, for they hold
the memories, traditions, culture
and hopes of Indigenous Australi-
ans.
