Our Community: a culture of care, respect and enrichment

ANZAC Day Berry Public School greatly values our relationship and collaboration with our community, including the Berry RSL Sub Branch, and we marked the 102nd anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in true Berry style last week.

Our students participated in the school ANZAC ceremony on Thursday which was attended by over 30 serving and returned service men and women. The ceremony was truly outstanding with many RSL members reflecting that it was one of best school services they attended. We wish to thank the Berry RSL for their attendance and contributions which add so much value to our school service.

The community ANZAC Day service on Tuesday was attended by over 50 of our students who marched in the parade and then performed a beautiful rendition of Lest We Forget, led by Mrs Quinn.

Thanks to all of our parents for bringing the students to the parade in uniform, special thanks to Miss Marshman and Mrs Felton for liaising with the Berry RSL sub branch and organising the events.

Kids Matter As part of our Kids matter program this term, teachers will be implementing our Bounce Back resilience program across the school. This program will be taught in the odd weeks on Friday afternoon. It is centred on our school anti-bullying program. A lot of work has gone into the program and its resources and I would like to thank Miss Vearing, Mr Simpson and Mrs McAuliffe for putting it all together for the staff and students.

School Assembly This week will see our first assembly of Term 2. Our whole school assemblies are each fortnight in the school hall and parents are welcome to attend. Class awards are also given out each assembly. There will be no class item this week, however, cross country ribbons will be given out to the first three place getters from next Wednesday’s school cross country carnival. NAPLAN Week 3

A reminder to parents of students in Year 3 and Year 5 that the NAPLAN tests are to be held next week.
