Art and About

Last Friday 23 Berinba students joined fellow art enthusiasts from schools in

our learning community to explore and learn at the National Art Gallery of

Australia.

They were excellent representatives of our school and we're inspired by the

amazing art they got to see and learn about. Favourites were the Australian

Indigenous art room, the Australian Colonial room and the modern art room.

In this room the students got to view Jackson Pollack's famous Blue Poles and

a new art installation of a never ending pumpkin patch.

Thanks to Mr Buffington for driving us safely.

They’re big and small.

But I never wear them

They’re fluffy and soft

Ugg boots are comfy

And sometimes lumpy.

But when I relax

They may collapse!

Crazy Hair Day

Berinba had a crazy time raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.

Yass High Transition

On the 21st of May, Mrs Kemp and Miss Watson came to Berinba

with some ex-students. They showed us what there is to do at

Yass High School and what the transition would be like.

Classes

As well as having similar classes to primary school like English

and Maths, they also have different ones like Language, HSIE and

Agriculture.

There are also heaps of different clubs such as the Social Justice

club, Chess club and the Minecraft club plus many more.

What we liked

I liked learning about all the different classes and knowing there

is someone there to help me with problems. (Liked Everything)

Head lice

The facts

head lice are one of the most commonly reported health complaints from parents and teachers

anyone can catch head lice regardless of their age, sex, or how clean their hair is

head lice do not survive long when they are off a human head head lice do not live on furniture, hats, bedding or carpet head lice have built up some resistance to head lice treatments

Tips for parents in reducing the spread of head lice

As infestations are particularly common in primary schools, it is best to choose a treatment that can be used over time. There is no single solution to eradication, only persistence.

Regularly check your children's hair. Teach older children to check their own hair. Tie back and braid long hair.

Keep a fine tooth head lice comb in the bathroom and encourage all family

members to use it when they wash their hair.

A couple of drops of Tea Tree in your child’s Shampoo or Lavender Oil around

their hairline.
