Survey Overview • On June 13 th , 2016, the Johnson County Bar Association mailed surveys to all 3,759 lawyers registered in Johnson County. It is estimated approximately 1200 of these lawyers would appear in court. • Lawyers were required to only evaluate judges with whom they had personal experience. • 473 surveys were returned by the response deadline of July 29 th . This quantity was well above the number needed to achieve a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error which are research industry standards. Therefore, these results are considered representative of the surveyed population. • Survey data was kept confidential and managed by a third party. 2.
