Beth Moore is an acclaimed Bible teacher, conference speaker and author. “One day I read in my church bulletin about a Bible doctrine class on Sunday nights. I knew that while it would bore me to tears, God wanted me to go. At the first class, a former football player threw open his Bible and taught us with such a passion that tears filled his eyes. I couldn’t take a single note. When it was over, I ran to my car and burst into tears. I told God, ‘I don’t know what that was, but I want it!’ That night God lit a fire in my heart for His Word that continues burning to this day. I’m adamant about this - I want more than anything for women to follow hard after Jesus because even when we can’t diagnose our problems, God’s Word can bring us healing and wholeness. “

Our culture often defines hope as merely a fanciful wish or a casual desire:

“I hope tomorrow is a better day.”“I hope to go to Disney World next year.”“I hope the Packers win the Super Bowl.”

Clearly, what is hoped for may or may not come to pass. The hope of believers, however, is more than a desire or a wish. It’s an unshakable confidence in God — even when circumstances give us every reason to doubt.

G.K. Chesterton observed that hope only has any real meaning when things are hopeless. “As long as matters are really hopeful, hope is a mere flattery or platitude,” he wrote. “It is only when everything is hopeless that hope begins to be a strength.”

We can teach our children the difference between our culture’s view of hope and the hope we have in Christ. Hope is not mere optimism or wishful thinking; it’s an essential part of our faith. When we hope in the Lord, as mentioned 23 times in the Psalms, the following benefits await us.

Hope in the Lord gives us strength. Our culture teaches us to have self-confidence, but believers are to place their confidence in the Lord. When we hope in Him, we find the confidence and strength to face any challenge that comes our way.

Hope in the Lord teaches us patience. Society encourages us to solve our own problems. But when we face an impossible or hopeless situation, we must learn to wait patiently on the Lord. We do not need to be anxious or worried. We can find peace in God’s unfailing love for us.

Hope in the Lord brings encouragement. You know that feeling you get at the end of a long week? The anticipation of the weekend lifts your spirits. Now think about stretching that weekend out for eternity. We can find encouragement and joy amid life’s struggles because we know we will live forever with Jesus. That is why we are told to anticipate His glorious return (Titus 2:13).From Focus on the Family, Parenting, Various Authors

Emma came home from Sunday School on Palm Sunday and told her mother that she had learned a new song about a cross-eyed bear named Gladly.

It took her mother a while before she realized that the hymn Emma had been singing was really: “Gladly The Cross I’d Bear.”

Principles

z We will advocate and protect the ideals of the traditional family as it is defined and established in the Holy Bible.

z We believe that truly healthy relationships can only be attained through a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ.

z We will feed the souls of individual family members by offering a daily diet of the Holy Bible in a variety of compelling ways.

z The context and content of all our offerings will intentionally and unapologetically be presented from a traditional Biblical world view.

"Growing up in 'Chicagoland,' I was mesmerized with what might be going on behind the scenes when I listened to the announcers on the radio. I thought to myself, ‘That’s what I want to do for the rest of my life!’ I’m grateful to God that He’s taken the passion of a young boy and allowed it to evolve into a 33-year career from coast to coast - from New York to Florida, Virginia to Idaho. Working in Christian radio in the Wausau area since 2003, I’m now grateful to call you all ‘family’ and that the Family Radio Network my new home!”

Introducing Ken Bishop

Every summer, listeners Bob and Linda Koopman of Auburndale host “Cousins Camp.” All 12grandkids stay at grandma and grandpa’s place and basically, with the help of their moms, do Vacation Bible School for the whole week. Lots of outdoor games, visits to roller rinks, water parks, fun around the campfire, singing, and daily breakfast of Grandpa’s famous and delicious “slop”. The week wraps up with a big birthday party for all 12 kids, a talent show, and

prizes. Grandma Linda creates a new booklet of 50 age-appropriate Bible verses for every child each year to memorize before they can come to Cousins Camp. Wow – can we come too? “Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up”. - Deut. 11:19

EASTER TRADITIONS FOR YOUR FAMILY • Before Easter, watch a video that

illustrates the suffering and death of our Savior. For the youngsters, Jesus of Nazareth or the animated version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. For teens and adults, The Passion of the Christ.

• Decorate a table or the fireplacemantle to provide a visual focus ofthe Easter story. Include a donkey, palm branches, a handmade woodencross and a large rock (or ball of play-dough) with a hollowed-out center thatresembles a tomb.

• Add some fun to the mix! One familysays, “We have a museum in ourcommunity that features a Holy Weekart exhibit as well as a life-size mural ofthe crucifixion. After quietly ponderingwhat Jesus did for us on the cross, wealways eat out at T.G.I. Friday’s.”

• Deliver homemade cards toneighbors. Your token of friendship andfaith stands out because others rarelysend Easter cards.
