3. By this time though, Austin is so frustrated with the Mexican government he calls for Texas’ independence.

4. In reaction to Austin’s declaration, Santa Anna agrees to the resolutions passed in the Conventions of 1832 and 1833 except for giving Texas’ independence from Coahuila.

5. Upon Stephen F. Austin’s return to Texas from Mexico, his letter asking for Independence was intercepted by Mexican officials, and he is arrested for treason against the Mexican government.
