What is a Temperate Pond?

A temperate pond is a well-filtered pond. Many animals and plants live in a temperate pond such as Crayfish, Turtles, Dragon Flies and The Great Blue Heron.

The frogs adapts to a temperate pond by laying their eggs in the waters of it. All frogs are laid in water and grow up in water. When the weather is rough, frogs adapt to the weather by burying themselves in the sand and hibernate. Frogs also eat insects that leave near the pond like dragonflies, flies, butterflies and more with their sticky tongues.

How do Water Lilies adapt to the Temperate Pond?

Water lilies adapt to the temperate pond by sinking it’s roots deep under the water line and into the ground. The stems also collect oxygen from the water and the big, round leaves absorb heat and energy from the sun above them. The water lily become a carnivore so that it can live in a pond. It catches insects through it’s bladder and digests them using a special enzyme.

The Water Hyacinth adapts to a Temperate Pond by digging it’s roots under a thick mat which allows the plant to absorb enough sunlight to live. The Water Hyacinth is a possible resource for bio-cleaning industrial waste which can help clean the pond when humans pollute it.

How do Cattails adapt to a temperate Pond?

The Cattail adapts to a temperate pond by growing in it’s moist soil and they are also nests for ducks and birds that live near or in the pond. The Cattails can also be eaten by animals and people that live near the pond.

What is are some problems that humans cause the the Pond life?

Human effect the life in a temperate pond by overfishing or polluting the pond by throwing their trash on the pond water. This can effect the pond life because animals living in the pond can choke on plastic, metal etc. and can get strangle by plastic bags and other materials.

How can these problems be solved?

These problems can be solved by educating people not to dumb their waste into ponds. Also, to enforce laws against fishing in the ponds by making a time schedule for when to fish and not to fish so over fishing would be prevented.
