About the ComposerJames E. Clemens (born 1966) composes a wide range of vocal and instrumental music. His works are influenced by old-time tunes, rhythms from West Africa, and the music of Native North Americans, as well as jazz and early American folk hymns. Jim also plays a variety of instruments in the string, percussion, and woodwind families, but his favorite way to perform is as an accompanist on the piano. Jim lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
