network, in orbit 23,300 miles above earth

and Telenor’s network of strategically located

IridiumOperating using a constellation of 66

satellites in a near polar Low Earth Orbit

(LEO) with cross-link architecture, Iridium

offers pole-to-pole global coverage. Iridium land-based services

include worldwide voice, paging, Short Message Service (SMS) and

data communications, using lightweight handheld phones and

paging devices. The Iridium system operates independently of a

regional infrastructure enabling maximum communications
