Summer 2012Computer Camp for Teens
NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC) provides several high caliber half/full day programs in computers for teens. Our educators inspire young minds to exercise their creativity while embrac-ing education as an invaluable tool for life. For ages 10 to 19 with hands-on computer knowledge, we offer classes in the area of building your own computer, game programming with Java, C++, video editing & special effects, Android Programming, website design with graphics, dynamic web page with JavaScript, and AJAX. Choose from any of our summer camps! Register for multiple
programs to increase learning skills of your children.

Game Programming with Java - Basic This is an introductory level course where students will learn the basics of Java programming to build software. Students will learn to use functions, expressions, flow control, loops and more to develop simple games. Prereq: Create 2D Games or equivalent.
Building Your Own ComputerA hands on course that teaches students to build computers from scratch! Learn to build a computer, load software, format hard drives, change directories, motherboards, eliminate viruses, configure and troubleshoot software on your computer. Prereq Computer Basic or equivalent.
Computer Basic & Window This hands on course provides students the knowledge and skills required to identify different types of comput-ers, the components of a personal computer including microprocessors, motherboard, flash drive, hard disk, memory, keyboard, mouse and input/output devices.
Create 2D Games-Programming with Game Maker This hands on course is designed for students wanting to learn the basic element of creating a 2D game using GameMaker software. The students will learn to create games that include sprites, back-grounds image, sounds and music, objects, events, actions and rooms. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent.
Game Programming with Java - Intermediate Once you’ve mastered the basics Java programming, then you’re ready to learn some of the tougher Object Oriented concepts such as classes, Objects, Method Overloading, Constructors, Destructors and Polymorphism and more to develop advance application. By the end of the course, you will be able to develop simple interactive games. Prereq: Programming with Java Basic or equivalent.
Video Editing & Special Effects If you want to learn to develop and edit a digital movie then this class is for you. You will learn to add back-ground sounds and music, special effects, text, cut unwanted movie clips, merge movie with other movie clips or pictures and to upload the movie to your web site or YouTube for your friends and family to view it. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent.
Programming in C++This is an introductory level course where you will learn the basics of C++ programming and Game Maker to build simple game software. You will learn to use, common functions, expressions, flow control, loops and more to develop an application! Prereq: Create 2D Games or equivalentWebsite DesignIf you want to develop and publish your own website, then this is the class for you. You will learn to create web pages with text, pictures and hyperlinks to other websites and web pages. You will also learn to upload and manage the website on the web server and gain basic knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) Cascade Style Sheet (CSS), and more. Prereq: Computer Basic or equivalent
Dynamic Website Design If you want to enhance your web site by adding dynamic and interactive features to your web page using JavaScript (an easy-to-learn programming language) then this class is for you. You will learn to use JavaScript components to enhance your pages with drop down menus, data validation in the forms, images and text with special effects, graphics selections and much more. Prereq: Website Design or equivalent.
Introduction to Android Programming Once you’ve mastered the Java programming, then you’re ready to learn how program formobile devices such as Android. In this class, you will learn to setup and use the development tools for developing your first Android application. You will also learn to use the Android's APIs such as Canvas to develop 2d games. Prereq: Programming with Java Intermediate or equivalent.
