From the modeled round came the Fruit & Nut Round, where teams had to crunch their way to points trying to identify all of the fruits and nuts in bowl, and of course getting a free snack in the process. The next rather bizarre but hilariously fun round was the sugar cube tower competition. Teams were given a bowl of sugar cubes and 1 minute to build the tallest single cube tower! Possibly the most frantic 1 minute I have ever seen in this Golf Club, as groups of people clambered over each other to get their sugar cubes balanced. When time was up Jackie and Sadie went round with a ruler to make sure all was judged fairly and accurately. A great night was had by all, and I'm sure you’ll be seeing more Extraordinarily Interactive Quizzes next year! This 20th of December, sta, visitors and members will be accompanied by members of the fantastic Sandgate Singers for aChristmas Carol Sing-a-Long. Starting around 6pm, Jamie will becooking up some of his mince pies which will be available to purchase on the night should anyone get a little peckish! Mulled wine will also be served along with a healthy dose of Christmas spirit! - How better to get you and your family in the mood for the festive season than to come and sing your heart out with us and some professional singers!

This year we are also looking to invite some of the Chestnut Tree Charity’s children and sta, the sta at Chestnut Tree Housework so hard all year round caring for children with life-limitingand life-threatening illnesses, that we feel both children, sta and parents all need a bit of recognition. So if that's not a good reason to come along and sing for them I don’t know what is! It’s free to attend so dust o your Christmas Carols and come along on the 20th.

Sing for Chestnut Tree

Trudging about in the snow and the frost, hunting down gifts while being bustled about in the busy streets of Horsham, Crawley or the dreaded Brighton at a weekend...wrestling for the biggest turkey in Sainsburys, wrapping, bows,Christmas trees, tinsel, sellotape EVERYWHERE, organising the family....... The list is endless. It all gets a little much and when all is said and done, and your boxing day turkey sandwiches seem to be lasting until New Year, you never want to hear the word “Santa” AGAIN!

Never Fear.......

The Escape from Christmas Invitation Day is JUST around the corner.

On the 29th December the club will be hosting a wonderful invitation day with Winter Punch and Jamie's homemade sausage rolls all included in the entry fee of just £6, so sign up today because it's going to be a busy one!

Sign up sheet is now up on the main club board, you can choose a late or early tee time so trudge up through the snow and pop your name down...

Charl Schwartzel ended his 20-month win drought in emphatic style with a 11-shot victory at the Thailand Golf Championship. The South African, who had held the lead from day one, completed his pillar-to-post success at Amata Spring with a third 65 of the week to post a winning total of 25-under.

Starting the day ve shots clear, Schwartzel had six threes on his card as he turned in four-under 32 and he added three more on the back nine to complete the romp and claim his rst title since his 2011 Masters win at Augusta.

Current Masters champion Bubba Watson came through the eld on Sunday with a seven-under 65 that saw him take a shareof second place with home hero Thitiphun Chuayprakong (70) on 14-under.

Sergio Garcia raised hopes of a nal-round charge with two birdies in his rst three holes but the Spaniard couldn't make further progress and nished alone in fourth after a closing 70.

England's Simon Dyson climbed to sixth after nishing with a 68 while defending champion Lee Westwood had to settle for tied 11th after his third two-under 70 of the week.A delighted Schwartzel said: "It's been a while and I have been knocking on the door for quite some time.

"Winning is not as easy as everyone thinks it is," added the South African, who said he'd played plenty of good golf over the last 20 months without getting the reward of a victory. "It's nice to nish the year with a nice win here and play some decent golf," said Schwartzel, who had just one bogey on his card all week.
