About TEDxIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a programme of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

Today there will be talks, performances and films, an excellent lunch and wonderful opportunities to connect with speakersand fellow TEDx-ers. During the breaks, as well as our sponsor stands, speaker area and bookshop, there will be a number of stands featuringlocal initiatives, artists and technology, and several TEDxExeterexperiences.

TEDxExeter 2016 could not happen without massive support and input fromour team and volunteers. We are hugely grateful to each and every one ofthem. Thanks also go to our amazing string quartet who will entertain you inthe Great Hall.

Dreams to RealityWithout a dream, people struggle to keep on keeping on, especially whengrappling with humanity’s toughest questions. But dreams by themselvesare ineffectual. They need grounding in reality and dedicated action.

Many of our past TEDxExeter speakers have incorporated healthy doses ofdreaming and realism, and our delegates, sponsors and team have caughtthe dreams and helped to create new realities.

At TEDxExeter 2016, we want to encapsulate the idea of movement, seeingdreams as seeds that are released into the world, that may be dispersedand land anywhere, and that need watering and feeding and nurturing fromtiny shoots to fruiting plants.

So we invite you to dream dreams alongside us, dreams that are seeds fullof potential, dreams that through action will one day become reality.
