TECHNOTE A NEW ACTIVE FOR WHITE BLISTER CONTROL Now registered for use within brassica vegetable crops for control of white blister and downy mildew, Amicus ® Blue is a unique mode-of-action fungicide developed within Australia. Developed by Nufarm in Australia through extensive field trialing, Amicus Blue is a protectant fungicide with a unique co-formulation of amisulbrom (Group 21) and tribasic copper sulphate (Group M1) in a unique concentrate formulation. Amisulbrom is a new proprietary sulfonamide fungicide developed by Nissan Chemical Industries. In addition to amisulbrom, Amicus Blue contains 180 g/L copper present as tribasic copper sulphate. The tribasic copper sulphate reduces the risk of fungal resistance developing, enhances disease control and removes the requirement for an additional tank mix partner. The copper in Amicus Blue is in the same form as exists in Tri-Base Blue. Tribasic copper is a unique form of a copper compound that is an alternative to other traditional copper products. Tribasic copper sulphate provides enhanced disease control over standard copper hydroxide formulations and is achieved using lower rates of copper per hectare. Tribasic copper sulphate has excellent crop safety, meaning Amicus Blue can be applied over the top of any high value brassica crop with confidence prior to harvest. Note the absence of sporulation where lesions appear to have been developing FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Excellent preventative activity at low rates at multiple stage of target fungi lifecycle • Rainfastness with swift absorption into the leaf • Desorbs from inside the leaf when wet to inhibit fungal infection • Potent zoospore control, including inhibition of secondary infection • Stable performance in the field with an excellent crop safety profile • Available in an easy to measure liquid formulation that blooms easily and remains in suspension • Zero withholding period when used as directed

TECHNOTEA NEW ACTIVE FOR WHITE BLISTER CONTROLNow registered for use within brassica vegetable crops for control of white blister and downy mildew, Amicus® Blue is a unique mode-of-action fungicide developed within Australia.

Pre harvest White blister Amicus Blue

EFFICACYNufarm has developed Amicus Blue in Australian brassica crops through extensive trial work and is very effective against the target fungal diseases. From spring 2010 to summer 2013, Nufarm trialed Amicus Blue in:

• Broccoli crops in Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland

• Brussels sprout, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli crops in South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia and Queensland

Amicus Blue at 2 L/ha provided very good control of white blister (Albugo candida) and downy mildew (Hyaloperonospera brassicae), with the best fit at buttoning and the week of harvest.

Amicus Blue appeared to have greater efficacy than other commercially available group 21 fungicides.
