• A national programme initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) in 1998 in partnership with various stakeholders

• the dti strives to advance women in business to encourage a drive toward competitiveness and socio-economic transformation

• Presently TWIB is located at the CSIR in Pretoria.

To train a network of Infopreneurs that provides information technology (IT) and computer literacy, upgrading the centre into a business info centre. The aim is to build and equip existing women-owned businesses.

TWIB facilitates technology-based business solutions to women-owned enterprises and in the process, unlocking constraints for women entrepreneurs.This is done in partnership with technology experts, scientific researchers, and business support structures.
