TECHNO – CULTURAL FEST

IGNITE-2019

Held on 22nd and 23rd of March 2019

IGNITE-2019 was a 2 day Techno-Cultural fest conducted by the Department of Mechanical

Engineering, JSSATEB. The objective of IGNITE-2019 was to lay platform to all the students in exhibiting

their talents in various fields.

‘IGNITE’ stands as a platform for students where they can apply their theoretical knowledge into

practical things. The whole idea was generated while students approached the faculty to revel their project

ideas and seek their support to manifest it to the world. Another advantage of this fest was to grow

knowledge on the event management among the students which will help for their future.

The principal Dr. Mruthyunjaya V Latte, head of the department Dr. Bhimasen Sargaon, Sri Ravikiran

Kulkarni, general secretary KASSIA graced the inaugural as chief guest along with sri. Vishweshvarayya

joint secretary, KASSIA as guest of honor. The guests spoke about how one can work towards becoming an

entrepreneur and be successful, and motivated the students in the direction of entrepreneurship. The event

included bike stunt show, cultural events, auto expo, technical talks and a few fun events.

Inter college Sports Events (Mini Cricket, Carom, Chess, Mock IPL, Mini Basket ball, & Game of Shows)

were organised according to the plan, all the participants thoroughly enjoyed the events, The Dept HoD

witnessed the winning moments and distributed the prize for the winners.

The amazing Bike stunt show was performed by professional riders representing TEAM HORNET, bikes

were specially design to perfume this type of stunts.

TECHNO-CULTURAL FEST 2018

Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted Techno-cultural Fest, IGNITE2K18 on 16th

and

17th

April 2018. The chief guest for the event was Dr. C. Ranganathaiah, Director (A&A), Technical

Education, JSSMVP, Mysuru. Dr. Mrityunjaya V. Latte, Principal and Dr. Anandkumar R. Annigeri,

HOD of the Department graced the occasion. Dr. K.B. Yogesha, Mr. Kousik S and Mr.

Veereshkumar V.M were the faculty co-odinators for the event and student co-odinators also helped

in smooth conduction of the event. Various activities both indoor and outdoor were conducted to

show case the hidden talents of the students. Some of the programmes organised are Technical Talk,

Debate, Tech-Quiz, Auto-Expo, TVS stunt show to name a few.

Hybrid Two-Wheeler championship-2018 The Hybrid Mavericks team comprising the students of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics

and Communication Engineering participated in TVS Hybrid Two wheeler championship held on

16th and 17th June 2018 at TVS Motors Pvt. Ltd., Hosur, Tamilnadu. The team has received TVS

Jupiter 110 cc scooter from TVS Pvt. Ltd to modify and build the vehicle. The team successfully

modified the vehicle and judged as the best team and awarded first prize in the event. Our

Management also supported for the championship . The team was lead by captain Bharani S Anand

of 6th semester student and Mr. G M Swamy was faculty advisor.

Business challenge-2018 The team of 8th semester students consisting of Mr. V.S.Akash, Mr. Soumit Sarkar, Mr. Shubham

Kumar Agrahari and Mr. Swapnil participated in Business challenge 2018 held at Atria College of

Engineering, Bangalore on 25th March, 2018. In this competition, students has to showcase their

skills in marketing field. There were about 50 teams from different collages. Our team got runners up

position and awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

Shilpa Divakar and Rajath Bharadwaj, V semester, participated and won second prize for their

concept “Robotic Gloves” in the “Ideathon 2018” event organized by Electronics and Instrumenta-

tion Engineering department at JSSATE, Bangalore on November 14, 2018.

SAEINDIA has recognized JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bangalore as its Collegiate Club

for the Academic Year 2017-18.

‘STORMRAGE RACING’ team consisting of twenty students of our department participated in FFS

2017 at Coimbatore from 6th to 10th Oct. 2017 under SAEINDIA Collegiate club.

Ms. Bhavana K B, 3rd semester student, presented a paper on “Mechatronics and Humatronics” in

two day state level paper presentation competition held at National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru

from 25th to 26th Oct 2017.
