GALACTIC FOOTBALL

The Manual Event

CRAZY PINBALLINTRODUCTION:

This is qualifying round for Galactic Football. This game is similar to golf. A bot has to trigger the balls in the holes & the difference is that there will be many holes having positive as well as negative points . Points will be given if robot hits ball in the hole having the positive and will be deducted if it hits ball in hole having negative points.

GAMEPLAY:

1.Balls will be placed inside a compartment in one corner of the 2*2 arena from which one bot will bring balls across the wedge to pass balls to others on the other side of the wedge.2.The other robot will collect the balls and trigger them towards holes. While doing so, robots are allowed to move within certain range.3.Different holes will have different points .4.Some holes will hold negative points.5.Total 25 balls will provided to each team.6.Maximum 10 minutes will be given to each team.7.Top scorer teams will qualify for next round.

GALATIC FOOTBALL

1. The team with 2 bots (1 shooter and 1 goal keeper ) which scores maximum goals in the match or scores 3 goals would be declared as winner of that match & losing team would be knocked out from that match. 2. The maximum playing time between two teams would be of 10 minutes. 3. In the case of bot failure, players are not allowed to touch their bots. Goal will be considered only if the ball enters the goal posts. 4.In case of tie during knock-out matches, firstly extra time of 5 minutes will be given and even after that if there is still a tie then the team which takes the ball first to the opponents 'D' post, will be declared as winner. 5. The ball directing mechanism of the bot can neither hold the ball nor cover it. (Lifting & sticking of ball is of course not allowed) Any team lifting and carrying the ball, using adhesive techniques to hold the ball or any other unfair means will be disqualified. Any part of the bot should not cross the 'D'POST of both the teams. At start from centre bots should be at least 25cm away from the ball in the centre. IF the ball stuck in any part of the bot, the ball will be placed at the centre of the arena. In all other cases the decision of organisers would be final.

Playground : Galactic Football : The dimension of the arena is 300 cm X 150 cm X 40 cm. Crazy Pinball: the dimension of the arena is 200 cm X 200 cm X 30 cm.

Galactic robots:

Dimension of robots should not exceed 15cmX15cm neither. in the case of length nor breadth. There is no restriction on the height of the robot. The depth of the directing mechanism of the bot should not exceed 2cm. There can be any number of directing mechanism in one bot.

Bot ball : The diameter of playing ball is 4cm for both games The maximum mass of the ball is 25 gm.

Goalpost : The dimension of goalpost is 60cmX10cmX10cm.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

To design, build and fly a wireless , remote controlled and hand launched aircraft with a minimum wingspan of 60 cm and a maximum of 120 cm and a maximum weight of 1200 gm which is capable of :

Close control Manoeuvring in such a way that it Flies between any two specified points during its flight

Landing as close as possible to a given reference point.

Completing the above mentioned events after being launched from a given point in the shortest possible time.

RULES

Machine An aircraft is defined as an object that has the four forces

of flight, namely lift, drag, weight (gravity) and thrust due to propeller acting on it at any point of time.

The potential difference between any two points must not exceed 12 V at any time or the equivalent of 3 LiPo batteries in parallel (11.1 V)

IC engines are not allowed. All movements must be controlled by electrical motors.

The participants are free to use the materials of their choice.

The aircraft should be hand launched.

There is no restriction on dimensions of any kind except that of wingspan.

Abstract Submission

This is a write up regarding the details of your project and will be used to assess the design and fabrication of your aircraft.

This report must contain a few pictures of your aircraft.

This is meant for elimination purpose.

GAMEPLAY•Stage 1GAME PROCEDURE•There will be 2 rounds a qualifying round and a final round.•In both the rounds the bot have to traverse the arena.•Arena contains both line line following and grid solving mechanism. For further details see arena specification

Qualifying round :•The robot has to follow the track.•No objects will be placed.•The bot will be placed at the starting point as highlighted in the arena.•The objective of the game is traverse the path and reach to the target area in shortest time.•The robot may expand after starting but in anyway it should not increase the Bot specifications.•Once activated, the robot must operate without any human guidance.•The track is of white colour with black platform.

Final round:•The robot has to follow the same track. •There will be 6 vertical tubes placed at random positions in the grid.•The task of the robot is to wander in the arena and to pick up/move the tubes to the target area .•The robot may expand after starting but in anyway it should not increase the Bot specifications•Once activated, the robot must operate without any human guidance.

Page 18: Techniche - Robotics

GAMEPLAY

Collect dry sand from the pit at one end of the arena and unload it at the other end of the arena.

The event will be played in 3 rounds :

1.Qualification Round

2.Knock-out Round

3.Final Round

The machine should follow the curved tracks leading to the dumping area and overcome speed breakers on the way.

SPECIFICATIONS

Dimensions and Fabrication1. The machine should fit in a box of dimension 250 mm x 250 mm x 300 mm (lxbxh) at every given point of the race. The external device used to control the machine or any external tank is not included in the size constraint 2. The machine should not exceed 6 kg of weight.

Robot Control Requirements1. The machine can be controlled wirelessly or with wires. Off board power supplies are allowed.2. If the machine is wired then the wire should remain slack under all circumstances during the

competition.3. If the machine is controlled wirelessly, the machine must at least have a four frequency remote control

circuit or two dual control circuits which may be interchanged before the start of the race to avoid frequency interference with other teams.

Page 19: Techniche - Robotics

Criteria for Victory

The machine transferring the maximum quantity of sand in the stipulated time wins.

General Rules

1. In the Qualification round , each team will be provided with a time slot of 5 min.

2. A total of 32 teams will be selected for the Knock-out round on the basis of performance in the Qualification round.

3. In the Knock-out round , 2 teams will enter the pit at the same time and a time slot of 8 minutes will be provided. The losing side will be knocked out.

4. In the Final round , the teams will perform individually with a time slot of 10 minutes and the team giving the best performance will be declared the winner. Other teams will be given ranks accordingly.

5. DC motors having rating more than 12 Volts cannot be used.

6. The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered teams.

7. Violation of any the above rules will lead to disqualification.

8. Judges' decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.
