Page 1 of 2 Technical Visit Shatin to Central Link SCL 1121 – Immersed Tube Pre-cast Unit Casting Yard 23 July 2016 (Saturday) Programme Highlights The SCL will extend East Rail Line from Hung Hom to Admiralty Station. The Cross Harbour Section includes the construction of the 4 th cross harbour railway tunnel to connect Hung Hom and Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter (CBTS). This section of 1.7 km SCL cross-harbour tunnel across Victoria Harbour will be built by using immersed tube tunnel (IMT) method comprising immersed tube units pre-casted at the casting yard. The length of each unit is around 160 metres. A casting yard for the immersed tube pre-cast units has been set up at ex-Shek O Quarry. Upon the completion of the pre-cast units, it will be towed to the construction site at Victoria Harbour by sea. Time: 09:00 – 12:00 Gathering Time and Point: 09:00 at MTR Shau Kei Wan Station (Exit / Entrance C) Fee: Free of Charge. For registration, please send your name with your IOM 3 membership number, and mobile phone number to Ir. Kelvin Choi, Honorary Secretary of IOM 3 (HK) at [email protected] Registration will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis and priority given to the Member of IOM 3 . Maximum no. of participants for this visit is 20 nos. Successful applicants will be notified on or before 18 July 2016. Certificate of Attendance (2.5 hrs) for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be provided at the end of the event. Safety Equipment: Participants must bring along their own Personal Safety Equipment including safety helmets, safety reflective vest and safety shoes. Participant without his/her own Personal Safety Equipment will not be allowed to enter the site. Note: The talk shall be carried out in Cantonese with subtitle in English for power point and site video.
