A Plan B appliance snapshots customer’s servers nightly

Snapshots are encrypted and sent off-site to the Plan B Recovery Platform

On the Recovery Platform, the snapshots are automatically converted to run in a virtual machine then booted up and tested

Recovery servers are therefore immediately available on the remote recovery platform – literally as quickly as they take to boot

Customers can access their recovered systems within minutes from any Internet connection

• ‘The Magic Bit’• Calculate differences between snapshot storage and

frozen host• Make updates to frozen host• Apply ‘Overlays’ to perform P2V conversion, network

changes, application-specific tweaks, and to deploy test harness

• Queue frozen host for testing

ConversionConversion

• Static• P2V• Test Harnesses• A/D Recovery• Application Specific Changes

• Dynamic• Network Re-Addressing• Host file mangling• Metabase changing• Exchange Reconfiguration
