Title: Improved Work Platform Mode Leveling Functionality Applicable Products:
Model Serial Number Range
TH414 TBZ00100 – UP (platform ready) Description: New universal ground module software is available for all platform ready equipped units to enlarge the allowable machine positioning envelope from the current 1º to 3º when in platform mode. The maximum boom angle changes to 58º instead of 60º. Enlargement of the slope angle improves set up of the platform machines on rough terrain. In combination with the improved universal ground module software, updated cabin display software and platform control module software are available. The new display software improves the operators ability to position the machine accurately. Software Releases: The following software releases are now available through the CAT Alliance Website:
• Universal Ground Module Software P3.2 (1001098643vP3_2.exe) • Display Software 3A (4170097_v13-A8.exe) • Display Software 3C (4170097_v13-C8.exe) • Platform Control Module Software P3.0 (1001097078vP3_0.exe)
Refer to attachment 1 for Software Installation Instructions. Refer to attachment 2 for Improved Display Overview.

SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE STEP 1: REPROGRAMMING UNIVERSAL GROUND MODULE
a. Ensure that the platform is connected to the machine via the electrical harness of the platform (Illustration 1).
Illustration 1 b. Connect the Communication Cable (P/N 330-5253) to machine connector on the
power distribution board (Illustration 2) and to the serial port of the laptop. If no serial is port available on laptop use the USB Serial adapter.

Note: minimum requirement to change to platform mode is both level gauges (indicated by five horizontal and five vertical squares) need to be in the third box with a white dot in
the middle (reference “a” above). If the machine is completely level, the third box on both level gauges will be fully black (reference “b”).
When the stabilizer is positioned properly (correct position and enough pressure),
the arrow and the bottom plate of the stabilizer will be full black instead of white (reference “c”).
