Technical Data Sheet 1 EZYCOAT SCRATCH 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm DESCRIPTION AND COMPOSITION Ezycoat Scratch is a highly decorative trowel-on acrylic coating which has a paste like consistency comprising of a mixture of varied grained siliceous powders, inorganic micronised colouring agents, water based synthetic acrylic resins in emulsion combined with a range of other performance enhancing additives. USE Ezycoat Scratch has been designed to produce a highly decorative external synthetic finish which is suitable for application to appropriately prepared rendered or EzySkim Render/ Ezycoat Super 6 surfaces. When applying Ezycoat Scratch to any surface it is recommended that the surfaces be free of any contaminant which may affect the performance of the coatings and that any visible imperfections in the surface which may be transferred through to the finished surface be patched using Ezycoat Coarse or Smooth Patch. (see Ezycoat Coarse Patch and Smooth Patch Technical Data sheets) APPLICATION Once having produced a uniform substrate by either cement rendering, EzySkim Render / Ezycoat Super 6 or Ezycoat Patching Compounds, apply a base coat of Ezycoat HiOpacity Sealer so as to maintain even coverage. Allow the treated surface to stand for approximately 1 hour (See Technical Data Sheet). Then apply Ezycoat Scratch to the prepared surface using a Stainless Steel plasterer's trowel, evenly spreading the paste over the surface. By striking the surface gently in a vertical direction with a polystyrene float, a decorative travertine style finish can be produced. By working the polystyrene float in a circular manner rather than vertical, a swirl effect is achieved. A finishing coat of Ezycoat Membrane Paint is then applied in accordance with the Ezycoat Membrane specifications, approximately 12 hrs after the application of the Ezycoat Scratch. This will complete the application process, producing a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. CONSUMPTION Product Type Rate per 15 Lit. APPLICATION

Once having produced a uniform substrate

by either cement rendering, EzySkim

Render / Ezycoat Super 6 or Ezycoat Patching Compounds, apply a base coat

of Ezycoat HiOpacity Sealer so as to

maintain even coverage. Allow the treated

surface to stand for approximately 1 hour

(See Technical Data Sheet). Then apply

Ezycoat Scratch to the prepared surface

using a Stainless Steel plasterer's trowel,

evenly spreading the paste over the surface.

By striking the surface gently in a vertical

direction with a polystyrene float, a decorative

travertine style finish can be produced. By

working the polystyrene float in a circular

manner rather than vertical, a swirl effect is

achieved.

A finishing coat of Ezycoat Membrane Paint is then applied in accordance with the

Ezycoat Membrane specifications,

approximately 12 hrs after the application of

the Ezycoat Scratch. This will complete the
