Concept  TechCycle  Tech4ALL  Project  Problem  Statement:      Increasing  purchasing  power  in  Malaysia,  evolution  of  technology  generates  increasing  amount  of  electronic  wastes.      Still,  there  is  socio-­‐economic  gap  whereby  underprivileged  group  are  lack  of  access  to  basic  education  and  training  opportunities.

Internship  Opportunities—Local  Interns  Team  

NaGonal  Interns  Team  SOLS  24/7  Staffs  

Internship  Duration:  6  weeks  (Required)    Cross  cultural  working  opportunity:  Interns  will  work  with  project  partners  and  local  team  project  interns      Local  Interns  Team  will  work  together  with  the  AIESECers  in  Local  Committees,  mainly  responsible  for  outreaching  activities  and  awareness  campaigns  in  order  to  collect  electronic  wastes  from  the  community.      General  Job  Description    

§  A<end  training  by  project  partner  SOLS  24/7  upon  arrival  to  understand  the  project  plan,  and  conduct  planning  for  the  6  weeks  project.  

§  ConducGng  &  connecGng  the  awareness  campaigns,  seminars  and  acGviGes  to  increase  public  awareness  by  in-­‐campus,  out-­‐campus  and  public  outreach  acGviGes  as  planned  by  local  commi<ee.  

§  ParGcipate  in  community  services  at  NGOs  chosen  by  supplying  refurbished  computers.

§  Responsible  in  external  engagement  for  new  partners  &  business  development  of  project  by  contacGng,  seVng  appointment  and  securing  sponsorship  from  companies  of  same  interest.  

§  Contact  with  business  outlets,  shopping  centers,  and  potenGal  areas  to  promote  computers  collecGon  acGviGes.

§  Managing  the  project  event  page,  website  &  social  media

Internship  Details  •  Accommodation  fee:  RM250.    •  EP  will  be  staying  in  the  university’s  student  hostel.    •  Bathroom:  Shared,  no  hot  water.    •  Internet  is  provided  but  it  is  advisable  to  purchase  data  in  Malaysia.    •  Food  is  not  provided  but  easy  to  access  in  the  university  campus.      •  Budget  of  food:  RM3  –  RM5  per  meal.  

•  Transportation:  Free  university  bus  around  campus.    •  Reception:  National  partner  of  the  project  –  SOLS  Tech  24/7  will  pick  you  up  at  the  train  station.

Integration  AIESEC  Activities    •  Welcoming  ceremony  by  Host  LC.  •  Involve  in  LC’s  General  Training  (AIESEC  Gathering)  •  Involve  in  departmental  functions  such  as  meeting,  organizing  committee,  team  day,  etc.  

•  EP  is  highly  recommend  to  prepare  a  cultural  sharing  or  presentation.  

•  LC  partnership  is  recommended  in  future  if  this  experience  achieve  mutual  expectation  for  both  LC.

About  Kajang  Location  Kajang  is  a  town  in  the  eastern  part  of  Selangor,  Malaysia.  Kajang  is  the  district  capital  of  Hulu  Langat.  It  is  located  21  kilometers  (13  mi)  from  Malaysia's  capital,  Kuala  Lumpur.    Food  Kajang  is  famous  for  its  sate  (alternate  spelling  satay),  a  form  of  skewered  barbecued  meat.  Informally,  Kajang  is  known  as  the  "Satay  Town",  and  is  famous  among  tourists  and  locals  alike.  The  most  famous  place  to  eat  satay  is  Haji  Samuri  as  well  as  Restoran  Malaysia.    Language  Although  Bahasa  Malaysia  is  the  ofDicial  language,  English  is  widely  spoken,  especially  in  business  and  commerce.  Chinese  dialects  like  Cantonese  and  Mandarin  and  Indian  dialects  like  Tamil  and  Hindi  are  common  among  the  Chinese  and  Indian  communities.
