In many cases, conditions are too stressful for conventional planting techniques or spontaneous natural revegetation but yet do not require hard structural/engineering solutions.

For over thirty years Total Erosion & Pollution (now incorporated in the Polyfabrics group of companies) have offered a range of quality biodegradable products made from either jute or coir that can be used as a stand alone product or in combination with each other to provide protective structural reinforcement to stream banks and shorelines.

Additionally, Tec Mat® prevent soil loss due to run off on newly constructed cuttings or embankments. A biodegradable matting will provide temporary protection of soil (in some cases up to 4-6 years) whilst promoting seed germination and moisture in the top soil structure.
