ProblemLike many other businesses...the cost of electricity is ever increasing…and for this regional grocery store location, it was at its highest point! There were also electrical “gremlins” at this facility that were contributing to what seemed to be an endless fluorescent lamp and ballast replacement project...coupled with the fact that the lighting system was outdated and degraded. High electrical Costs plus High Maintenance Costs led this owner to find a solution and find one fast!

SolutionTeC installed a complete Power Protection/energy Management system in this facility, which included a full lighting package to immediately reduce the energy consumption, but more importantly, eliminate the electrical “gremlins” that existed within this electrical system. Voltage Conditioning Units were installed on every electrical panel as well as Power Factor Correction Units on every refrigeration compressor, which resulted in an efficient electrical distribution system with an added umbrella of protection over the entire facility. That combined with the new lighting package boosted this facility’s electrical consumption savings to over 20%!

Problemas a result of what seemed like an ever-increasing electrical bill, coupled with increasing on-going maintenance costs, this customer knew it was time to do something in order to reduce these expenses. They were going through at least a case of fluorescent lamps a month and the back room was full of dead lamps and ballasts. This facility had also recently suffered a direct lightning strike, causing electrical equipment damage and extensive downtime that resulted in expenses that could have been prevented.

SolutionTeC installed a complete Power Protection/energy Management system in the facility, including a full lighting package, that not only reduced the energy consumption by nearly 20%, but also placed an umbrella of electrical protection over this facility. The end result was a significant reduction in fluorescent lamp and ballast failures.

With the LED lights Total Energy installed over the produce section, sales in that department went up 7%; everything looked nicer!

ProblemThe customer was having problems with lights burning out prematurely and the store’s energy costs were out-of-control. The grocery industry is a “pennies business.” They needed to get clean voltage and their electrical usage under control.

SolutionTotal energy Concepts installed voltage conditioning on all panels, which did away with the lights burning out. TeC also took out their 400-watt metal halides and replaced them with 6-bulb high bay fluorescent fixtures.

ProblemThe customer’s initial request was for updated lighting in the

produce area, but after conducting a facility review and presenting

recommendations, the customer chose to go with a complete energy

optimization system. The system included Voltage Conditioning Units

(VCU), Power Factor Correction (PFC), CoolPro, endocube,

Complete Lighting Package and Panel Maintenance with Grounding.

SolutionTeC installed a complete electrical grid optimization system for

this customer. VCUs for facility protection and electricity clean-up;

PFCs to correct poor power factor and eliminate power factor

penalties; CoolPro on refrigeration compressors to improve

efficiency; a facility-wide lighting solution that greatly improved the

interior and exterior look of the facility which ultimately improved

this grocery store’s customers’ buying experience.
