    Question 1 The Pricing ProblemFor the matches to be played at Eden Garden, Kolkata, CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal)has to decide the pricing of the tickets. There are two types of seating, the VIP box and thestandard stands with 5000 and 95000 seats respectively. The price of the VIP Box ticket iskept at 10 times the price of the ticket for stands. CAB is looking at the option of keeping theprice of tickets for stands between 100 and 700 (but in multiples of 100 only). The expectedoccupancy rates at different prices have been given below (X-axis: Price of Ticket, Y-axis:

    Question 2 How to transport the South African TeamTeam South Africa is currently in Mohali. The next three matches for South Africa arescheduled in the following manner:

    Match 1 New Delhi

    Match 2 Bangalore

    Match 3 Kolkata

    The team consists of 15 members. Transportation arrangements till Kolkata have to be

    made in advance. From Mohali to New Delhi, the team can travel either through train orthrough airlines A1 and A2 (Table 1). From there on it will travel only through airlines A1 andA2 because of the time constraints. Further discount of 25% is applicable in case if 3 or moreflights are booked on airline A1 and a discount of 20% is applicable in case if 3 or moreflights are booked on airline A2. The cost of flying by airlines A1 and A2 between these citiesis given in Table 2 and Table 3 respectively. (In each of these tables, the costs given are perperson)

    Question 3 Transfer of Equipment For the closing ceremony of the World Cup which will take place in Mumbai, equipment isbeing imported from Germany. The equipment would be bought via ships and would beoffloaded at the Chennai port. This equipment would be transported via road to Mumbai.From Chennai, firstly the equipment can be transported to Tirupati, Hyderabad orVijayawada.
