Glamping, “is a portmanteau (a word that is a combination of two ormore words) and blends glamorous and camping.” Glamping is also

known as, “boutique camping, luxury camping, posh camping orcomfy camping.” There are numerous differences between

camping and glamping; so, here are some basic differences, toname a few.

HERE'S AREFRESHER ON"GLAMPING"

GLAMPING:Glampers want anythingbut the monsters in theholes in the ground. They want to use abathroom that is nodifferent than their onesat home--clean andflushable.

3) FINDING"RELIEF"CAMPING:Campers will use portapotties or localbathrooms that just have“toilets,” but they aresimply a porcelainthrown with a gapinghole in the ground. Whenever I have usedone of these, I think, “Ihope a monster doesn’tcome out of the depthsand eat me!” For thebrave and daring, campers will use the“Camper’s Squat” byusing a secluded area ofnature to relievethemselves. Bravo, campers.

4) SLEEPINGARRANGEMENTS

CAMPING:Campers will, at most, sleep on a cot in their tent. Usually, they will use the traditional sleeping bag. Whether it is alight sleeping bag for hot summer nights or a durable, padded sleeping bag for cold winter nights.

4) SLEEPINGARRANGEMENTS,cont'd.

GLAMPING:Glampers love usingtraditional sleeping ware, such as beds, blow up beds,or the like. They want toremain comfortable and nottoss and turn all night on theground like campers.

5) GETTING GRUBAND STAYING SAFECAMPING:Campers love the open fire. Theylove portable grills/stoves. Theylove the grills that somecampgrounds have already installedfor campers. These are simple metalstructures, not electric/gas cookers. Campers prepare food ahead oftime, usually, and warm it up oncethey are at camp if need be. Foodhas to then be packed away in cars;the camp needs to be sweeped forleftover food products that fell onthe ground. This is because theremay be unwanted animal life to visitthe camp. No one wants to wake upto Mr. Bear barging into camp andeating all the food and trash!

5) GETTING GRUBAND STAYING SAFE

GLAMPING:Glampers love stoves, ovens, andelectric/gas grills. They want easeof use, tasty food, refrigeration, andfreezers to keep food fresh. They donot need to worry about wildlifegetting into their food or trash, because they can easily lock it awayin their cabins, RVs, yurts, etc.
