Students will take the role of associates of Company XYZ who recently came across a recent broadcast in regards to overpopulation at the local high school. Their first task is to present research to the school board and city officials informing them of the dire

need to construct an additional high school.

Collaboration Activity Students will be separated in 5

groups to encourage a collaborative learning environment. • 3 to 4 students per group

Students will collaborate with each other in order for each group (with their assigned task) to complete their task.

Background Building Activities Students will be graded by the following: Research (graded in 4 parts)

• Landscaping options, plants that thrive in the area, low maintenance, Go Green!, etc.

• Trends in population and economic growth Keeping budget cuts & international bridge in mind

• School traditions Legal issues, Mascots

• Costs Construction, staffing, classroom materials, etc.

Guest Speaker Presentations City manager, city planner

• Building inspections• Creation of roads• Traffic lights• Other issues

Construction Activities Model

• 3D model of the campus, landscaping, roads, etc.

Songs/Uniforms• Incorporate new school name/mascot into

new alma mater, fight song & model uniforms

• Museum box and/or Photostory to complete task
