Page 4: Team 1A Seminar Proposal

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? As the world is becoming even more connected with mobile

technology, there is a growing urgency for the global workforce to be in tune with what is out there in terms of

communication and collaborating techniques. We will be presenting information in a demonstration format to the rest of the

class to prime them for the global workforce.

OUR SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING LEARNING OUTCOMES:•After being surveyed, students will be asked if

they are actively implementing these tools (a combination of any) in a team setting.

•We will ask students which of these tools will work best in certain situations.

•Each member of the group has a firm understanding of the above mentioned tools

• If the time is utilized efficiently and effectively, we know we have succeeded

•We will ensure the seminar is informative, engaging, and fun

HOW WILL WE ENSURE OUR “SERVICE” IS DELIVERED ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL?

• We will be conducting the seminar in 3 components: Introduction to relevance of topic, hands on demonstration, and discussion.

• Rather than utilizing powerpoint slides, we will be doing live demonstration so that the students can engage with the tools we are training them

• We will be discussing the relevance of gaining a firm understanding of these tools in regards to working in the global workplace along with working in a remote environment

• Our team will be breaking down each individual part of the demonstration so we will have multiple speakers who will serve as "experts" on their assigned software

(AKA How we’ll make sure you don’t fall asleep to a boring lecture)

SUBJECT MATTER #2Labor Issues in the Global Marketplace

Page 9: Team 1A Seminar Proposal

Why is it ethical?

What exactly are the conditions they are working in? Are we

aware?

What is the alternative?

Page 10: Team 1A Seminar Proposal

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?This is important because most people do not realize that the working conditions in other other areas of the world are inadequate and at times inhumane. We believe that in order to achieve an ethical standard, we must all agree on a definition of global ethics and what it must take to meet these standards. We will be presenting a case study in which students will propose an ethical alternative that fits within the definition of global ethical we previously defined.

Page 11: Team 1A Seminar Proposal

OUR SUCCESS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE FOLLOWING LEARNING OUTCOMES: •The subject area is thought provoking and allows students to

think critically after being presented with the case study. We will be evaluating this by referring to the definition of global ethics along with a rubric that serves as a checklist if it meets this definition

• If the time is utilized efficiently and effectively, we know we have succeeded as facilitators.

•We will ensure the seminar is informative, engaging, and fun

•Students will be able to define ethical standards in a global context.

HOW WILL YOU ENSURE OUR “SERVICE” IS DELIVERED AT A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL?

• We will conduct this seminar into different components including a brief introduction to ethics and how we have defined ethics in a global context. Students will use our definition along with our standards for form a well developed solution to an ethical dilemma.

• The topic we have chosen is relevant since all of our students have use products that have been manufactured in Asian countries. We are posing very through-provoking questions that will spark their interest.
