COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers theory operation and maintenance of test instrument, measuring instruments such as analogue and digital multimeter, signal generator, function generator, oscilloscope and tacho meter according to operation and service manual.

Content standard1. OPERATE ANALOGUE AND DIGITAL MULTIMETER

LEARNING STANDARD

1.1 Select the correct meter.1.2 Calibrate meter for current, volt, ohms.1.3 Confirm range selection using digital meter.1.4 Identify range selection using analogue meter

TEACHING STRATEGIES

1.1.1 State the difference between analogue and digital meter according to its performance. 1.1.2 Explain and identify the choice of features (AC, DC, OHMS etc.) according to its specification. 1.1.3 Explain the selection of meter range according to safety operating limit.1.1.4 Identify correct scale range according to its specification.
