TEACHING PLAN

A teaching plan (lesson plan) is the instructor’sroad map of what students need to learn andhow it will be done effectively during the classtime

It’s a simple statement of:1. What your pupils are going to learn2. How you intend them to learn it3. How you will know that the learning has taken

place.

IMPORTANCE OF THE TEACHING PLAN

Provides you with a structured ‘route’ throughyour lesson so that you can be sure of meetingyour lesson objective(s).

Gives you a secure base from which you canproject to your class the impression that you areorganised and that you know what you aredoing. (That is one of the important elements ofeffective behaviour management.)

Provides you, your mentor, your tutors andcolleagues with insights into the way you areapproaching your teaching, and shows that youare helping your pupils make progress
