Planning

Slides 1 – 7 provide visual reminders of the tools and equipment and the processes used for every stage of making. Once again, it would be useful to run the slide sequence on the screen or on a loop sequence. This would remind students of the order of preferred making and build their confidence and understanding of this section. The step by step stages are sequenced but remain quite general so that it allows students to be specific to their own individual designs in the planning in their work booklets. This also allows for differentiation - the higher ability pupils to aim for a high level in Planning by adding more detail and considering additional issues for planning e.g. time per task etc.

Recap

The re-cap to this unit provides pupils with the opportunity to test what they have learnt through quick quizzes (Slides 1,2 and 5) and a visual re-cap of what key tools and equipment they have used during making (Slides 3 and 4). The purpose of these light hearted quizzes are to build students confidence in identifying appropriate tools and recognising their purposes.
