Melissa ReynoldsTeacher of the Year 2013-2014 for Winfree Bryant Middle School

    Principal: Becky Kegley

Melissa teaches 7th grade Science. She has been teaching 12 years.

Greatest Contribution and Accomplishment:"Often, middle school students walk into a classroom jaded by past experiences, insecuri-ties, and perhaps even failures in school. My goal is to rekindle that level of curiosity weall experience in childhood."

Philosophy:"In order to connect with and teach the ever-changing middle school child, I must be will-ing to invest, engage, reflect and adapt. Lessons must be creative, unexpected, hands-on,implement real-life applications, not to mention exciting and energetic. Teaching is morethan communicating standards and checking off a 'to-do' list."

"At the heart of all I do is one intent: I desire to open student's minds to the love of learn-ing as I share my passion for science."
