TEACHER EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT-The ES experience-
• In the first years of the Spanish democracy (1976), the adult education
began and during the 1980s it started to be regularised.
1960s, 1970s, 1980s
• In the 1990s, it was the first time that a Law of Education (LOGSE) had a chapter on adult education.
1990s
• Changes in adult education according to the reforms of the Bologna Process.

A group of teachers (between them members of ACEFIR), together with the University of Barcelona’s Institute of Education Sciences, were asked to write a document with some recommendations and issues to take into account when working with
adults.
