2. What is textile design? Textile design is the process of creating designs and structures for weaving, knitting, printing, fabric painting or ornamentation of fabrics. In practice it is the production of designs for saris, dress materials, furnishings, carpets and such textile products. All beautiful textile products are created first on paper and then production carried out with help of different raw materials ,different actions leading finally to finished product. Today the professional textile designers use some form of computer aided design software especially created for the purpose for saving time and to get more accuracy. 3. Foliage drawing Flowers and plants can be found in all shapes, sizes, and colours To get various shapes and forms naturally the practice of foliage drawings will be of help in designing. Drawing to get desired shapes and forms from nature by observing flowers, plants and animals etc: is termed as foliage drawing 6. COLOUR Is a visual sensation created out of a physical stimuli consisting an observer to an object under the source of light. For a textile design the primary source of attraction and pleasing of customer is through its colour. 9. Secondary colours Green Violet Orange It is formed by mixing two primary colours in required strength in required hue. 10. Tertiary colours Beige or cytron Olive Brown It is the result of mixing three primary colours in different ratios keeping one primary colour in prodominent. 11. Light theory of colour Vibgyor CMYK RGB Substractive colour mixing. 12.
