C4 Program Eligibility

• Pre-Revenue Product Launch – have a developed business plan and have “tested” their product and are within 3-12 months of product launch.

• Early Revenue – Annual revenues from $250K-$5M. These companies have gained traction in the marketplace, but face growth barriers and need assistance to get to the next level.

Company Overview:Exro Technologies is bringing to market the Variable Electric Input Generator for generating electrical power from wind, tide, and run of river sources.NREL Technical & Scientific Assistance Provided:NREL performed a design review of Exro’s RM3 and RM5 variable input electrical generators. Further, they provided insights on the design, reviewed the overall system from blade capture to grid integration and provided guidance on potential issues and risks, certification concerns, areas for optimization, and identified undesirable design elements. NREL also helped remodel the torque on the shaft and identified potential issues that may have arisen with other power electronics.

– Assist in developing branding framework (trade mark and service mark) for commercializing core company products and services in the U.S.
