2008 version TBC Ministry Worker/Helper Ministry Community Covenant TO: The Elders and the rest of the Ministry Community of Trinity Baptist Church The following correctly identifies the level of my commitment to serve as helper or worker in the ministry area of the ________________ here at Trinity Baptist Church (TBC): 1. I have met with the Ministry Leader and understand what will be expected of me. I believe the Lord Jesus is asking me to commit to this responsibility of ministry with TBC. This means my service with this ministry is to be done unto the Lord. I will not expect or demand recognition or reward for this ministry. I am called to do this job in a manner of excellence because it is for Jesus Christ alone. (1 Cor. 10: 31Col. 3: 17; 2 Tim. 4:3) 2. I am committing to apply myself to this ministry for at least one year on the average of about 5 hours per month. I will participate in a wholehearted manner making the ministry a success including making every effort to attend all team meetings (or practices, or events, etc.). I am sensitive to the reality that my input is valuable and needed. If I cannot attend I will contact the leader and inform him/her in a timely way. 3. I see my service with this ministry as a way to help me in my commitment to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I will meditate on the Word of God and pray regularly (daily if possible). I will also be a good model and attend worship services regularly. (John 15: 5-7, 16: 14) as well as attend at least two Information Groups (4-8 weeks each) each year.. 4. I will make every effort to attend the two-to-four Ministry Community training meetings per year held by the Staff or Elders. (Usually Sunday afternoons) 5. I will demonstrate love and respect for each of my ministry team members. During our meetings (or practices, or events, etc.) I will show respect by being on time and controlling my tongue. If I have an issue or have been hurt by someone on my team (or my leader) I will not gossip to anyone about them, instead I will go to that individual privately, and then lovingly share how sin might be getting in the way of our relationship. I will not be afraid to ask for, or give forgiveness. Should any anger, or broken trust on my part arises, I will make every attempt to be an agent of reconciliation and not division. (Prov. 16: 28; John 13: 14, 35; 1 Tim. 5:19) 6. I look forward to seeing how God will work through me and in me in this ministry! I have prayed about this ministry opportunity and am ready to trust the Lord to use me to make more disciples. Furthermore, as I pray persistently (Lk. 11:13) for those I am serving, I am convinced that the Lord will equip me with the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit to do my share of the ministry. Furthermore, I ask for your steady prayers and encouragement for me and my family’s spiritual well- being as well as for my diligence for this ministry. Lastly, I give you permission to lovingly approach me should I fall short of the expectations of this covenant to help me get back on track.
